Well Addie is 9 1/2 months old and man is she busy!! Here's the happenings since the last post: 2/14/08 - Waved bye bye for the first time! We were leaving Mamaw (formally known as Nana) & Papaw's house where Addie had been hanging out while Mommy & Daddy had a romantic Valentine's Dinner and as we were leaving I said "Wave Bye Bye" and to my utter surprise- SHE DID! Now she does it all the time- waving hi and bye and scrunching her nose up in a smile!
2/15/08 - Started pulling up on her own! Not to mention she's cruising up a storm. She loves to hold on to the basket of the stroller with one hand and then hold mommy's hand, so that she can help push. Makes for slow going through the mall but she LOVES doing it! She can also bend down and pick something up off of the floor- or look in her little fridge- too cute!
2/27/08 - Can stand by herself! This is moving too fast! I can't believe it!
3/18/08 - TOOK HER FIRST STEPS!!!! 1 to mama, 2 to diaper bag and 3 to daddy! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?!!? Well I certainly can't!
We're all done with our Mommy & me swim class and I have to say that by the end Addie really enjoyed it. At the last class, she could hold on to the wall all by herself (a very important survival skill!) and was starting to move her hands underwater. We'll go again when she's a bit older so that she can really develop some skills!
Addie's dr. appt proved to be more of a challenge this month as there is not much to keep a 9 month old happy in a small room where mommy won't let her touch anything. She reeked havoc on the paper that covers the exam table and cried the whole time Dr. Ford was checking her out. She's not so fond of strangers...but Dr. Ford said she was a healthy baby- weighing in at 17 lbs and measuring 28 2/4" tall! She hasn't gained any weight since 6 months which puts her @30% for weight and 90% for height. But don't sign her up for basketball yet, the stats don't serve as predictors until she is 2 years old. Right now they just shoe that she's growing! And she is!!!
Addie still has no teeth but we've started giving her "table food." First the inside of a yeast roll (yummy!) then some diced peas and carrots (wahoo!!). She's also had juice and last Sunday morning she had her first taste of daddy's pancakes- sans syrup- but she thought that was great!! Her favorite foods have changed- yogurt is at the top of the list with any kind of fruit as a close second. She'll still eat her veggies but sometimes fusses all the way through!
She says mama every now and then but dada is still her favorite word. We also think she's saying "Hey" b/c she'll say what sounds like "Hey" and then wave....
OH and she's sleeping from 8 or 8:30 pm to 6 or 6:30 am- WAHOO!!!!!!!!
A visit to Gigi's with Poppi, Uncle Ben, Erin & Daddy!
Gigi and I took Addie to see "the bunny" (aka the Easter Bunny) at the mall last week. I walked up with her on my hip and was casually talking to the bunny so that she could see it was okay and he reached out to pat her on the arm. Well she jerked away and made an awful face at him. So I sat down next to him, and we're talking (about what? I don't know- I mean how much conversation can you have with an over sized rodent?) and Addie starts to get interested and so she leans over to check him out. When she does, he puts his arm out toward her- she SCREAMED! No crying, just screamed in terror. Poor thing. So needless to say, we didn't get a picture with the bunny. She kept her eye on him as we walked away- I guess she was afraid he would follow??!
Tomorrow Daniel and I have been married four years! So we are celebrating by spending the night out! Mamaw is coming over to stay with Addie. We're looking forward to a full nights rest and even getting to SLEEP IN! YIPEE!
This weekend is full of Easter goodies, complete with an egg hunt- I'll be sure to take pictures- hahaha of course!! And then next week, Addie gets her first trip to Edisto w/the family.
Well, she's napping right now and I have a full days worth of laundry loads downstairs so I better hustle- Take care!
