Potty talk and other goodies

So Daniel was cleaning underneath Addie's high chair this morning and she walked up behind him, pulled his boxer's waistband out, peered down and asked "You got a stinky Daddy?" So funny!! She is really talking non stop- I know this is no surprise. She is afterall my daughter!

I've been having some killer mood swings lately (Poor Daniel) and at one point I was sitting in the floor of my closet crying- probably b/c I was feeling giant and didn't have anything to wear but I don't remember the specifics (there may have been no reason at all for me to be crying- who knows!). Anyway, my sweet daughter came over to me and stroked my face with her hand and said "What wrong mommy? Why cry?" I answered "Mommy's just sad right now and needs to cry." Two hands on my chin now "Is okay mommy, need medsin? Need passy? Is okay" (nodding her head and hugging me). No medicine in the world could have cleared up my tears as quick as the empathy and love I saw in my precious baby!

Sitting on the front steps waiting for Daddy to get home from softball practice, Addie and I were discussing the road:
"Cars hit me, mommy?"
"Yes they could and that would hurt. That's why you always hold a grown-ups hand when you cross the street or walk in a parking lot."
"yea mommy"
"Who's a grown up Addie? Mommy?"
"Yes" "Who else?"
"Daddy....Papaw...."
"What about Mamaw"
"Yea a grown up"
"And Gigi?"
"Nooo she's a kid."

Addie got a splinter in the bottom of her foot and she refused (ah the stubbornness of a two year old) to let us get it out. Of course I might have refused too if I'd seen Daniel coming at me with a needle or some other sharp object ;). So I kept it clean and put neosporin on it, etc...and eventually it worked it's way out. When it finally did come out and she noticed, I explained that God made our bodies so well that they can sometimes get rid of things that aren't supposed to be there- so we should thank Him for that! Now I'll hear her sitting in her carseat, looking at her foot and saying "Thank you God!"
