Really? Has it been since April?

Okay so here in a nut shell has been our life since...uh...my last post on April 29th....wow.

May- Daniel's birthday- wahoo! Maddox is pulling up early May and cruising by Daniels bday. Addie is ready to be 3 and pink is quickly topping orange in the favorite color department.

June- Addie's 3rd birthday- hooray! Complete with a pink dinosaur cake (by special request) and a birthday party where we planted flowers and decorated the pots (and had dirt cake of course). Too fun. Pics to come? Dare I even promise? My favorite June quotes:
"We love brother because he's little and soft."

"And I said to myself 'that's not funny' because it wasn't."

Mommy: "Are you allergic to anything?" (while playing doctor)
Addie: "I put my kids in time out and stuff...."

"I'm all about cookies."

"cabotion" = devotion
"wis"= it's (as in "wis okay mommy)

Addie, left sitting in the shopping cart in the middle of the isle at Wal-Mart (I was literally 5 steps away), extends her arms out in a stop motion and SHOUTS " HEY! ANYBODY NOT GET ME BECAUSE I AM MY MOMMY'S CHILDREN." yes I did laugh out loud...wouldn't you?

Around June 10th Mad man has started to stand for a few seconds unassisted. By end of June he is standing for a good 10 seconds.
He loves to play ball and will actually raise a ball over his head and throw it. He also chases rolling balls around the house- he is an expert crawler and soo fast! He absolutely loves yogurt and spaghetti (um not at the same time...well I don't know he might...) On June 28th Maddox takes one step to daddy.

At her 3 year check up Addie was in the 20% for height- I think she is 36" tall. And 15% for weight- a whopping 27 lbs. The doctor shrugged and said she's built like her mommy :). She loves mac and cheese, yogurt, granola bars and spaghetti. Activities- playing doctor, terrorizing brother and reading.

Then we went to Texas!! What a blast we had with my daddy, sister, brother & stepmommy- we went to the zoo, the water park, and celebrated the 4th. We really had a great time...and I've got some awesome pictures....I know I know...I'm going to get better really I am. Addie loved sleeping in the same room as Aunt Moe (she is the coolest!) and Maddox really liked hanging with Uncle Reed. Oh we miss them so much!!

July....what did we do in July?? Well on the 12th Maddox takes 1 step to Mr. Jason, then later 4 steps towards a toy and then 3 steps...Go Maddox!! And then he's running. All in one day ;) okay it seems like it. But once he made his mind up to walk, it was quick!!
The kids and I went to the beach with my family (Martins) while Daniel had a business trip to Canada. We had a great time together- quality time for the adults and the cousins! and of course....there are some great pictures......hmmmmm......

August- VBS at Mamaws church (Addie got up on stage and then had to be convinced to sit down again...what a change from last year!!) and of course Maddox's Birthday. At his 1 year appt he weighed a hefty 21 lbs 8 oz (which was around the 30 % for weight) but he's tall booger- 33"' tall which puts him in the 86% for height (um. not. built. like. his. mom.) He has two teeth on top and two on bottom. He wants so bad to run, like sister, but doesn't have the balance so he falls. A lot. And has the bruises to show for it. All over his precious little face and bald head. But he doesn't usually cry long. Sometimes, he just reaches up and rubs his head. Such a cutie. We had a small family party for his birthday and he LOVED his cake and of course got it everywhere. He was thoroughly pleased with all of the attention he got. Favorite game is still ball.

We sold the couches from downstairs and made it a school room! Addie is so excited telling people she is starting preschool.
August Favorite Quotes:
"Cob on the corn"

"I can do it by myself because I growed up."

"Mommy, don't I look fancy?"

"Sometimes I'm rude, sometimes I'm not" shrugging shoulders.

Addie: "When I'm big and I'm a babysitter, I'm going to live in the big white building (downtown) and I won't be able to come visit you because I'll be to busy."
Mommy: "That will make me sad. Can I come visit you?"
Addie: "Yea mommy, I'll let you."

On August 25th in the Chick Fil A parking lot- Addie asked why Jesus died on the cross (which she asks about a lot) And I told her that we've all done bad things & disobeyed God- mommy has, daddy has, etc. And just like when you disobey mommy and daddy there are consequences. There are consequences when we disobey God and that consequence is a place called Hell and that is where God is not. When Jesus died on the cross, he did it to take our consequence- so that if we believe that he died for us and ask him to forgive us- we are forgiven of those bad things. And then we are saved. And we go to heaven when we die.
And she looked at me and said "Mommy, I want to do that right now."
And I thought- oh no Lord she's too young- what am I supposed to say?? I don't want it to be just something she repeats! So I said "Okay honey, I'm going to let you pray." And she said (all by herself) "Dear Jesus, I've done bad things. I believe you died on the cross. Please forgive me. Amen" What sweetness from a sincere heart- faith like a child.

Sept- Okay....Family beach trip! (Mamaw came along for the ride) We had a blast even though it rained some, while we were at Myrtle Beach. The kids absolutely loved playing the ocean, digging in the sand and making (er tearing down) sand castles. On the days it rained we still had a great time playing indoor putt putt and playing at an indoor bounce house place. Such great memories. maddox now has 5 teeth (3 on top, 2 on bottom).
Sept 5th Maddox says his first word "Dag" ie dog. - And saying "mamamamamama" He loves to hold his sisters hand when in his car seat. And he loves to steal her sippy cup. He is waving bye bye, doing more and all done in sign language and recently will throw his hands in the air when you say touchdown. He loves to feed himself and wants whatever anyone else is eating. He also loves to "read" and turn the pages of books. His favorite book just has lots of pictures of different animals.

Addie's favorite color is definitely pink. We have been going to story time at the library every wed at 10:30 and Addie just loves it. (and mommy loves that it is free!). On Fridays, while maddox is at kindermusik with me, she loves to hang out with mamaw (amd sometimes Gigi) for some quality one on one time. She is doing great in our new preschool routine and loves to go downstairs and "play school." She is definitely a hands on learner.

September Favorite Quotes:
"Mommy I have something magical to show you!" Addie then raises her dress to reveal...no panties...um....we had a serious conversation after a serious laugh.

When on a picnic Addie had to go to the potty. When told she would have to do it on the ground she said "Like the creatures do?!?"

"Maddox everything is not a dog. God did not just make dogs."

Okay the kiddos are getting up from their naps and alas, no time to upload pictures but I really want to b/c this is my journal/baby book for them until I can get the time to scrapbook it all (ha!). Oh one more thing. We're into October but I already have a favorite quote:
"Look at all the things I can do." says neighbor boy from the back yard.
"Wow," says Addie shaking her head and smiling. "you can do lots of strong things- this I know. Whats that you say? When can I come down? Well I have to wait until my daddy gets home." Oh how precious she is!!!!

Meanwhile Maddox has 4 teeth on top, two on bottom and two top molars poking through. So you can imagine how pleasant he has been ;) But he is still a sweet little man....okay really I'm going now.

Oh sweet Catherine, I wish I could tell stories like you do. It makes me realize how fast our little ones are growing up! Love your blog by the way. So sweet!
