What a month it has been! Let's see...we've started on solids. First up was butternut squash...and Addie liked that okay. Next we tried bananas- and I have to say she definitely liked them better. Other firsts: she got her foot to her mouth and she sat up for the first time. Too cool. She's still a little wobbly when it comes to sitting up but every time we practice she can sit for longer and longer all by herself. She's growing up so fast. She has also started grabbing at EVERYTHING! Anything in your hands is of interest, well really anything within reach of those chubby little fingers.
Mommy is pretty happy b/c I have been slowly reintroducing dairy into my diet to see if it affects her. So far we have found 2 pieces of pizza to not be an issue...however, 3 bowls of chicken stew was rough. I paid dearly for that the day after- with a very fussy Addie.
And the question of the day? How is she sleeping? Well, Daniel and I have come to the conclusion that our precious daughter does not require sleep! She's been getting up several times a night and taking only 30-45 minute naps. But we are determined to help her organize her sleep a little better. During the day I have been encouraging longer naps and at night Daddy gets up and rubs her back a little when she fusses and then crawls back in bed with me. Usually, she'll fall right back asleep after a little whining. Sunday mornings happen to be a family favorite because when Addie gets up for her 4 or 5 am feeding, I feed her then she gets to snuggle in mommy and daddy's bed. It's a wonderfully sweet tradition to start. Then we get up and Daddy fixes pancakes or waffles. YUMMY!
So that covers October! This month holds Addie's first Thanksgiving- and a ride in the Midway Christmas Parade with Uncle Stephen! Not to mention a few more chicken stews- Got to love this Holiday Season!
