So here's a little on Addie- soon to be 20 months. She has suddenly sworn off of all meat...doesn't want to eat it. I keep putting it in front of her but she passes it up for things like broccoli and carrots. Crazy kid. My favorite thing she says is "Ha Nu Nu" = Happy New Year. Daniel loves when she says "Budja Bye!" Not so sure where the Budja came from but okay. Water = "Bawa." Other cute things: dog dog, bebo= belly button, ju ju = junior (her blanket), muuu = mule (Uncle Samuel), AmyAmyAmy = Tia Amy, Ni Ni = Uncle Stephen, Milmee = Millee (Gigi & Poppi's dog dog), Mease = please, Tantou = Thank you, Ah mommy or ah daddy = here mommy/daddy. Addie has started to try and repeat pretty much everything we say even though it doesn't always come out intelligable.
She loves to blow out candles and sit on her Elmo potty. She loves to play hide and seek with mommy and daddy. She has four top teeth, two bottom teeth, two molars on the top and two molars on the bottom. She breaks it down when she hears music with a good beat (our favorite is Jesus Messiah by Chris Tomlin). We start the next level of kindermusik on Monday and we're both excited- she loves the activities, music, and socializing (huh where'd she get that??).
Our normal day begins with breakfast- we were on a waffle (wawa) kick for a while but now we like muffins and sometimes bananas (mameees). We then take a shower- she sits at my feet in the shower and plays with the water and soaps up my feet :). Once we've dressed and brushed our teeth (during which she says "AAAAAAAHHHHHH") we usually meet friends to play. Our favorite hangouts include The Children's Museum, the play place at the mall, friends houses, and in pretty weather, the park. After lunch which, right now, consists of left over veggies from dinner or cheese and deli ham, we read a couple of stories sing twinkle twinkle (she only sings the first part) and she lays down for nap. Sometimes....okay a lot of times lately....I lay down too! She usually sleeps for 2 hours. Once up we have a snack (nak)- grapes are a favorite and apples, which she says suprisingly well and eats whole, we straighten the house up and start dinner. She gets really anxious while I cook so I try to give her activities like "washing" dishes in the sink standing on a stool. She calls this "washy washy washy." When daddy is about to arrive, I ask
Addie to point out the candles in the living room and we go around and light them. Then we open the front door and watch the cars coming by, looking for dadda. When she sees his car, she jumps up and waves and laughs. But as soon as he gets to the door she turns around and runs laughing. We sit down to eat and say the blessing- holding hands. And at the end Addie says Amen! After dinner we play some- and then take a bath, which she loves. Once teeth are brushed, diaper is on and jammies are zipped, Addie kisses and hugs Mommy and then Daddy and Addie disappear in her room. Sometimes I listen to them- he reads her stories and she just laughs and laughs. She goes to bed between 8 and 8:30 and usually gets up between 6:45 - 7:15.
Addie is such a joy but we do have our challenges...we're learning that hitting our friends is not a kind way to show love. We're also learning that it's very hard to share but taking turns can be fun. Some days it seems the time out corner is worn out...or maybe it's just mommy worn out from the time out corner....but I have to say all in all Addie is a pretty laid back kid- like right now she's quietly playing in the kitchen in a drawer...probably not a drawer I approve of but a girls gotta blog when another little someone is occupied.....
Well I know it's a long entry but these things have been rolling around in my head and I wanted to get them down. Time flies by so quick and I get so busy and I don't want to forget these precious moments- because I know it's easy to push them to some back corner of my mind to make room for all the new things. So thanks for indulging me while I detail the little things that mean so much- the little things that make my days with Addie such a joy and pleasure!

Now that's what I call blogging! Well done and much appreciated. I have a friend who has turned her blog into memory books for her children. You can actually get it printed into a book!
