Welcome to March!

Wow what a whirlwind February was?! I mean I seriously have to have my calendar open beside me as I blog to remember just what it was that we did last month! Well we went to lots of birthday parties, had an ultrasound (although I am not breaking the news on the blog just yet cause...mwahahaha you'll just have to wait!), took family pictures, went to the park, went to kindermusik, went to MOPS, took a trip to Waynesville and somewhere in there, took a nap.
Whew. I am exhausted. No really. Addie is going one hundred and ten miles an hour and I seem to be slowing down to school zone speed. She hasn't gotten the memo yet. In the last week, it seems, her vocabulary has exploded. She is making complete sentences: I wan dat mommy, I meeeees you, I yuv you, Go bye bye mommy, Go outside, Ere'd de ____ doe? I dunno (Said with rising inflection, hands spread out and shoulders shrugged), I wan beebres mommy (I want blueberries mommy), Dit out Daddy (get out daddy- usually spoken when he's in her ball pit, I wan up (she really means out), Dit id mommy (get it mommy), I wan mumit (I want muffin), Mommy hold you, mommy hold you! (she really means hold her...). Other fun words include babbit (rabbit), bambet (blanket), tiss (kiss), baby baba (baby bottle), oh and when we hear/see dogs she says "shhh dogdog!" with one finger pressed to her lips. This wasn't quite effective on Uncle Nick & Aunt Katie's dog Norman.... :). She is starting to try and sing. A few favorites- ABCD, Bowwowwow, and twinkle- although that's as far as she gets (still precious!).
In other big news, we have started to wean off passy. We started Monday morning b/c mommy just felt it was time and daddy agreed. So Monday morning I told Addie when she asked for passy around 9 am, that passy now lived in her bed and she could have passy when she took a nap or went night night. This did not go over well. At all. In fact, for the next 4 or so hours all mommy heard was passy and unintelligible screams, moans, and whimpers. I was pretty sure one of us was not going to survive. But after nap time, I asked for her passy and she gave it to me with a slight cry. The next morning, daddy asked for her passy when he got her out of bed and she gave it up with no cry. Tuesday at nap time, I picked Addie up and she turned around popped passy out of her mouth and threw it in her bed saying "Bye bye passy!" Is she not just something? Now she will sometimes ask for passy but will say "Passy in Addie bed mommy." And it's more definitive than a question. She learns so quickly. I am planning on a slow wean from here. We'll drop nap times, and then night times and by the time baby is here- no passy for Addie! WAHOO!
Addie is back to eating everything again, well except for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and her favorites are pretty much the same: blueberries, spaghetti, strawberries, goldfish, homemade smoothies, peas, beans (of any sort), and bread of course. She's so funny though because she decided she was a big girl and needed to have cereal with milk, mind you, for breakfast- just like mommy and daddy. Her favorite cereal is Rice Crispies but Cheerios and Frosted Mini Wheats come in at a close 2nd. Ok so I confess those are the ONLY cereals she has been allowed up to this point and I am sticking to my guns! No sugar high for my kid thank you very much! I grew up surviving on non colored cereals (a rule my mama had) and I think that was good...so I am passing it on. See mom- you weren't so bad ;) !
So all this week and next week I am getting us ready to go to CO to meet up with the TX family and friends- WAHOO!! They are driving up and Daniel, Addie, and I are flying- we are meeting in Denver and then trekking it up the mountain to Clark (30 min. above Steamboat Springs) for a week of relaxation, skiing (for those of us not pregnant.... :/), and romping around in the snow. We are so excited. Addie and I have been going through pictures on the computer and I've been pointing everyone out. Although she has talked to them on the phone, I am trying to help her connect names to faces. She can already recognize everyone- Pop, Lolli, Reed, and Hanna- so I hope that will help her shyness once we meet up. I am so excited!!!

On the peanut front- I have gained 4lbs and for all of you hungering for a belly picture-here you go.

I am 15 weeks currently and feeling rather plump and uncomfortable. I am feeling flutters and fish tails when I am still long enough to pay attention. We have our official ultrasound on the 24th, right after we get back from CO. Time sure flies doesn't it?? I am craving salads again- and anything salty or sour or that has vinegar. In fact, I just finished sucking on a lemon head....yum. Other than that, things are moving right along!
So I guess that's all for Feb. Can't wait for the warmer weather!!!!!!!!!!

More of our family portraits-

A Trip to Chapel Hill to see the Tarheels play. I think Brandy and I were more excited than Daniel and Steve...or maybe we just showed it differently. We had such a great time watching them stomp the Cavaliers.
Daniel, Addie & I took advantage of a warmer Saturday and went to the park. Addie LOVED going down the slide(which she wouldn't do by herself to start with...).
We spent Valentine's Day at the circus. Stephen & April went with us. Addie loved the elephants but I think her favorite were the horses. When they came out she kept pointing and tapping April on the shoulder saying "Oses April oses!!"

These pictures are from our trip to Waynesville for cousin Zayne's birthday. I love their faces in this picture!

Cheesing at the birthday party- so cute!

Poor cousin Piper- never a moments peace!! Such a sweet baby girl. Addie loved to give her kisses!

Attempting a kiss...

We had quite a good snow fall over night this past Sunday- probably a good 4 or 5 inches. This turned our driveway into the ULTIMATE sledding hill- Daniel was waiting for his carpool- so to pass the time we took some shots at the hill. Addie LOVED sledding!
She couldn't really walk in the snow b/c it was over her ankles when she stepped in it but she enjoyed trying.

A shot of our back porch- the winter wonderland. What's so crazy is that tomorrow's high is 72!
