Playing Catch Up

Okay time to play catch up on the blog, since Peanut is coming next week and I am sure we'll have more to add! Here's July in reverse order- newest to oldest (because that is how I uploaded them and I just don't have it in me to redo everything...)
Papaw's Bday Dinner @ River Birch

The Whole Gang. From Left: Elaine, Samuel, Amy, Ronnie, Sandra, Uncle Frank, Daniel, Addie & Me, Stephen.
Trip to the Natural Science Center in Greensboro

Pure joy known only through bouncing...
Addie, Brilyn, Jake, & Reed
Petting sheep- but according to her, they were all goats- no really, you try convincing her otherwise.
Yay for Monkeys!
Brilyn & Addie
Family Trip to Sunset Beach!
Daniel wasn't able to join us- he was too stressed about finishing the basement (more on that later...that's a different post). We missed him but had a great time with Gigi, Poppi, Simon, Dana, Sedona, Nick, Katie, Zayne & Piper. Addie loved digging with Zayne and Nick!!
The babies doing what babies do best!
This is so cute- I've got it on video too and if I can figure out how to upload it, I will. Addie was laughing the whole time! She loves the waves!
I couldn't get that shoulder strap to stay put....it drove me crazy but didn't seem to phase Miss. Priss- who is usually very particular about her clothes. Now where does that come from??
I love this picture of Zayne.
Addie and I sat in the waves for hours- literally. She loved it and it felt great to me and Peanut!
On the last day of the trip we went to the NC Aquarium- and had a blast. Addie thought these crocs were particularly interesting and apparently the feeling was mutual...or it was time for lunch.....
Already reading to Gigi....
Fearless child touching a horseshoe crab.
Giant tree frog!
Girls night at the Cracker Barrel on the way home. Addie and I had a great dinner. At one point she reached over, threw her arms around my neck and said "I love you mommy!" I wouldn't trade that moment for the world! The trip home was supposed to take 3 hours and 45 minutes- it ended up taking 6 hours b/c somewhere around Raleigh, 40 turned into a parking lot. Literally. But thanks to my loving husband we were able to get of fthe highway and take some back roads to make up some of the time. Addie was so awesome throughout the whole ordeal. I was so proud of her!
Random Pictures from July
Okay so this one is from June, but whatever. Addie and I took Daniel out for a Father's Day dinner at Macaroni Grill. I love the adoring look she has on her face in this picture. Her daddy is such a superhero- my prince charming.

Oh the bliss bathtime brings!

My new hobby. Haha just kidding!! Well kind of. We switched to cloth diapering b/c I did some research and found out you can save $2,000 over two years. Plus they are better for children with chronic diaper rash (Addie has had one since she was born). It's not as hard as I had expected. I do the laundry myself- every two days or so and Addie loves picking out the diapers she is going to wear. The only time she gets a diaper rash now is sometimes when we put disposables on her for church on Sunday!

Katie & Addie horsing around on Addie's big girl bed.

See mommy? I dress myself!

Addie has shown little interest in the potty except for a few unsuccessful attempts however the other day when I was trying to have a conversation with a friend on the phone (what was I thinking !?!), she decided to “dood it by my telf”. Two minutes into my phone call, I heard her in the bathroom quietly calling “Mommy….Mommy…help please” I came around the corner and found this….the best part is that I told her that I’d be right back and I raced off to get the camera- when I returned she happily smiled and said “Cheese” before going back to her pitiful cries for help. Don't judge me- you'd have grabbed the camera too!!

Baby Shower in Charlotte
Piglet and Christina threw me a shower in Charlotte for Peanut- it was so beautiful!!

Kisses from Morgan. Don't you love the look on Addie's face?
Yummy brunch!!

Linda, Nanelle, & Gigi

Oh the attitude. I know I know, wait till she hits 13.
Me & Piglet

Family Outing to Dan Nicholas Park
Riding Thomas...only it wasn't Thomas but just a little blue train. Didn't matter to Addie! She kept saying "Yay Thomas!"

Daddy riding in the car in front of us...somehow he didn't fit quite as well as we did.

Petting a "forsie" (you might call it a horse).

Too precious.

Addie loved that mommy could ride the lion with her and she loved waving to Daddy everytime we came around!
